The Concept of This Program

This is a 6-day program where participants will travel by plane and ferry to Tokashiki Island in Okinawa Prefecture's Kerama Islands.

They will enjoy snorkeling and beach activities in the world-class clear waters known as "Kerama Blue."

During the program, they will also experience authentic camping, setting up their own tents at a seaside campsite.
While savoring the relaxed atmosphere unique to the island, they will foster cooperation and independence through communal living.

As this program is designed for older students, it goes beyond simply experiencing nature. It also includes sessions to cultivate leadership skills necessary for future success in society, as well as listening and speaking skills through discussions.

The instructor will be Mr. Akagi, representative of Campship Academy, who has experience conducting leadership training for young people at TRP Setagaya Training and Professor Kubo's laboratory at the College of Sports Sciences, Nihon University.

This program aims to promote both physical activity in nature and personal growth through communal living and academic activities.

Key Features

Kerama Blue, the sea boasting the world's highest transparency

The Kerama Blue sea, known for its world-class clarity, shines in layers of color from emerald to deep blue under the sunlight. Beneath the crystal-clear surface, vibrant fish and coral spread out, creating a floating sensation as if flying through the sky. Its breathtaking beauty leaves children with unforgettable memories and a deep sense of wonder.

Spectacular scenery witnessed during a full-scale camping trip by the sea

One day during the trip will be spent authentic camping on the beach. If the weather is clear, you can see the spectacular sunset over the west-facing beach. Sitting on the beach together, listening to the sound of the waves, and watching the sun set into the sea will be etched into the children's hearts as a formative experience.

Living together with people of different ages fosters cooperativeness and independence.

Participants come from a wide range of age groups. At first, older children may see younger ones as immature, while younger children may find older ones intimidating. However, through living together in Campship’s culture—where “everyone is equal” and “taking leadership is valued”—these perspectives gradually change. Children begin to recognize their own roles within the group and develop respect for others who are different from themselves. These changes are what truly foster growth.

Program design that respects and allows children to choose what they "want to do"

Everyone enjoys nature in their own way. Many children who join our camps lead busy, time-structured lives in their daily routines. At Campship Academy, we go beyond simply following a fixed schedule—we value giving children the freedom to step away from time constraints and dive deeper into their interests, whether it’s plants, insects, fire, the sky, or food, nurturing their curiosity through exploration.

Acquire leadership and communication skills applicable in the real world

Participants will live together in Okinawa’s rich natural environment with fellow campers and student leaders who accompany them as mentors. Through this shared experience, they will have opportunities to think about and practice leadership and communication skills. By finding role models close to their own age, children are encouraged to set personal goals—“I want to be like that”—and develop their own unique style of leadership.
