The Concept of This Program

Camp Ship Academy's first Kansai program will be held on Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture.

Based at the National Awaji Youth Exchange Center, we will fully enjoy the sea of the island.

In addition to summer-specific activities such as swimming, red sea bream fishing, sea firefly observation, and large SUPs, we also include activities that foster independence and cooperation, such as communal living with friends, outdoor cooking, and orienteering.

As our activities will take place in Minamiawaji City, located on the border with Tokushima, we will also go on a whirlpool cruise in the Naruto Strait.

This is a five-day program where participants can experience not only fun but also growth through summer vacation experiences.

Key Features

Enjoy the beautiful ocean to the fullest with various ways to play.

Enjoy the beautiful Seto Inland Sea to the fullest.

Plenty of marine activities are available, including swimming at Aman Beach, which is within walking distance from your accommodation, observing sea fireflies, fishing, and large SUPs.

Southern Awaji Island is also close to the Naruto Strait Bridge, so we'll time our visit to go on a whirlpool cruise.

This summer, you can complete all your ocean-related fun on Awaji Island.

A food education experience where participants catch and prepare fish

It's a rare experience to catch a sea bream, but we'll be doing a full set, from catching the fish to preparing it ourselves and eating it for lunch.

By appreciating the food we usually take for granted and the preciousness of life, we hope to spark interest in food and awareness of environmental issues (food waste).

Program design that respects and allows children to choose what they "want to do"

Everyone enjoys nature in their own way. Many children who join our camps lead busy, time-structured lives in their daily routines. At Campship Academy, we go beyond simply following a fixed schedule—we value giving children the freedom to step away from time constraints and dive deeper into their interests, whether it’s plants, insects, fire, the sky, or food, nurturing their curiosity through exploration.

Living together with people of different ages fosters cooperativeness and independence.

Participants come from a wide range of age groups. At first, older children may see younger ones as immature, while younger children may find older ones intimidating. However, through living together in Campship’s culture—where “everyone is equal” and “taking leadership is valued”—these perspectives gradually change. Children begin to recognize their own roles within the group and develop respect for others who are different from themselves. These changes are what truly foster growth.

You can choose a meeting location that suits you (Tokyo, Nagoya, or Osaka).

By setting up meeting and disbanding locations in three major cities, this program is easily accessible to people from various regions.

When children from diverse residential areas gather, they have the opportunity to experience stimuli they don't usually encounter, such as subtle cultural differences, dialects, and variations in ways of thinking.

The expansion of friendships across the country, with children saying, “Let's meet again at Camp Ship!” becomes an invaluable asset for them.
