This program is a 5-day, 4-night spring camp set in the rural woodland of Nagusa, Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, and is packed with experiences such as fishing, art, woodworking, and mochi pounding.
Nagusa is a place where Campship Academy began its involvement after a certain encounter in 2024. Despite facing social issues such as an aging population and labor shortages, we hit it off with the local people who are trying to preserve and pass on the good old traditions and customs of the Satoyama area, and have since built a relationship through cleanup activities and programs.
In this special place, the children do not simply play the games that are prepared for them, but with the cooperation of local people, they enter the mountains and embark on an adventure, creating their own games. The creation of mountain steps and bamboo swings is imbued with the desire to value the process in which the children themselves think about and create things.
Furthermore, spending a solid period of time together over four nights and five days helps participants to become closer to their peers, and fosters teamwork and cooperation through communal living and creative activities. Another attraction of this camp is the opportunity to fully engage with one's own interests and curiosity as time flows leisurely in the countryside.
Making a fire, playing with bamboo, fishing, cooking their own meals... Through these daily activities, they will come face to face with the mountains and rivers, feel nature with their whole body, and experience the culture and wisdom that lives in their daily lives.
This is a special five-day program that values connections with people and weaves together experiences that can only be had in the spring countryside, each one handcrafted.
