Nice to meet you! My name is Ichikawa Shumai! I found out about this activity on an acquaintance's Instagram and before I knew it, I was already participating. I have experience as a soccer school coach, and I love this place where I can interact with children, watch them grow, and grow together with them. My goal during the program has always been to "have the most fun out of all the participants, leaders, and organizers!" Whether it's your first program or your second, or you look anxious or nervous when you first gather, you always leave with a smile on your face! Thank you for your support!

What I like about Campship

At Campship Academy, which is not a kindergarten, nursery school, or school, the leaders and management do their best to support children in realizing their dreams of "I want to do this!" and "I want to try this!", and as the children progress through the program with a sense of autonomy, you can see and feel their incredible growth.

In terms of interacting with leaders, Campship Academy allows students to interact with people they would not normally come into contact with, learning about diverse ways of thinking and broadening the scope of their own lives.

Memories of the Camp Ship

This is the 5-day Okinawa program for summer 2012.
This Okinawa program was my second program in my Campship life. Over those five days, I was confused and worried about how to deal with the children. I confided in the leader who was also participating about my worries, and he helped me solve the problem. In the end, I was able to solve my worries, but more than anything, it was that moment that made me realize that I wanted to stay at Campship Academy, where we could think about problems together with compassion, help each other, and grow together. At the same time, I think that was the moment I broke out of my shell.

About Me ✊🏻

I mainly study international relations, and my majors are English and French. In my sophomore year of college, I studied abroad in the UK. There, I had the opportunity to interact with children and realized the significant difference in early childhood nature experiences between Japan and overseas.

Camp Ship allows children to experience nature firsthand in a way they can't in their daily lives through its programs, so I believe it can bridge this gap. During the summer Yatsugatake program in 2023, which was my first time participating in Camp Ship, I not only witnessed children learning but also felt that I learned a lot myself. I had a very valuable experience, so I decided to continue volunteering. As a leader, I will do my best to ensure that children experience nature and intergenerational interaction that they wouldn't normally encounter, and that they feel their own significant growth through communal living! ✊🏻☺️

• Running 🏃‍♀️ → I was on the track and field team in school, specializing in long-distance running. So, I still love running and exercising!
• Music 🎧 → I've loved rock music since I was young, influenced by my father! My favorite band is "ONE OK ROCK"! I go to their world tours every year. Recently, I've also been attending outdoor festivals featuring many bands and artists.

Nice to meet you! My name is Akira Yagi.

I enjoy interacting with people and teaching, so in addition to my studies, I'm involved in a student organization that offers free English lessons to elementary and junior high school students, and I also work part-time as a tutor at a cram school.

My hobbies include all kinds of sports. I played baseball in elementary school, tennis in junior high and high school, and futsal in college. Of course, I also love watching sports. Recently, I've also gotten into going to board game cafes with friends. I highly recommend them because you can enjoy a variety of board games for a long time at a discount with student prices! I've lived overseas for a total of three years (🇺🇸2 years, 🇬🇧1 year) due to my parents' work and studying abroad.

Also, because mountaineering, forestry, and agriculture were part of the curriculum in junior high and high school, I love outdoor activities. At CAMPSHIP ACADEMY, I will do my best to support the children and also have fun with them, not losing out to their energy!

By the way, the mountaineering was serious, climbing mountains over 2000m every year. The forestry involved living in a mountain hut for about a week, cutting down trees, and transporting them to the base. And the agriculture was serious too, growing vegetables and fruits in the school fields and raising pigs 😅

What is your best memory at CA?

Gathering around a campfire with the children at the 2024 Summer Program @ Nasu-Kashi.

While watching the crackling fire, I played the guitar that I had been learning by myself at the time, and everyone sang "Kaiju no Hanauta" together. I remember being deeply moved by the sight of everyone smiling and enjoying singing along to my guitar playing, which was far from perfect. It was a sight I would never have seen if I hadn't been a leader at CA.

I want to cherish the feelings of that day and be proud as a leader.

Born in Tokyo. Lived in Shizuoka from 3 months old until graduating kindergarten. Returned to Tokyo when entering elementary school and currently resides in Tokyo. Studied abroad in Canada for one year during her second year of high school.

In my nearly 20 years of life, spending my early childhood in Shizuoka, which has more nature than Tokyo, is a great memory. I still remember playing in nature so much that I can say kindergarten was the most fun! Also, leaving home during my study abroad and having an extraordinary experience has become a great asset to me.

I hope that when the children participating look back on their lives, their nature experiences at CAMPSHIP ACADEMY will remain as fun memories and assets for them, just as they have for me.

I like many things, including basketball, snowboarding, playing with my kids, walking and playing outdoors, reading books, and singing. This time, my eldest son and second daughter will be joining me, making us a group of three.

My wife compares me to a Brachiosaurus. She says it's because I'm the biggest, but only eat plants.

I'd prefer to be called an elephant (pretty much the same thing, I guess). My children say I'm an old man on the outside, but a child on the inside. Here's what my family has to say about this Brachiosaurus!

I love outdoor activities and have been skiing and hiking since kindergarten. Recently, I've also been stand-up paddleboarding on lakes and trying snowboarding. I'm Reina Muraoka! I lived in Italy (11 years) and Switzerland (6 years) until just before I entered university.

I also skied in Italy through a ski program similar to Campship Academy, and I have many fun and challenging memories! My skiing improved greatly, and because the mountains were close, I often went skiing with my family on day trips!

I love being outdoors and active! I've played ski, tennis, swimming, and soccer. Now I've also started boxing for fitness.

I am currently a member of a student organization and teach English to energetic children.

A friend of mine introduced me to this program, and I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to serve as a leader.

I have been a member of the Girl Scouts since I was in the senior year, and have gained a lot of experience through the annual camps and regular activities. Looking back, I realize that it was a very valuable experience.

It seems that children today have few opportunities to interact with nature and rarely leave their parents' homes. As a leader, I wanted to give them the opportunity to gain as much experience as possible, which is why I became interested in this program. I have a younger brother who is eight years younger than me, so I feel I am good at working with young children!!

In the future, I would like to start a company that supports athletes in their second careers. While there are various support programs overseas and many athletes have found success in their second careers, it seems that in Japan, although there are support programs, they are not very effective. I would like to be the next to give back to the athletes who inspired me during their active careers.

Hello, my name is Shiho Kuroda and I am currently studying architecture at the Faculty of Engineering at Osaka Institute of Technology.

In junior high school, I was a member of the brass band and played the euphonium, and in high school I was the manager of the volleyball club. Since becoming a university student, I have been able to travel to many countries using the money I saved from working hard at part-time jobs. I feel that the culture, scenery, and people I encounter in the places I visit give me energy. そのお陰か、頑丈な人間に育ちました！

緑豊かな公園などで楽しそうに走り回っている子供達を見ていると、昔の自分を見ている様で和やかな気持ちにもなります😌
そんな中、CA（キャンプアカデミー）に所属する友人に、ここあべとわにピッタリかも！とCAの存在を知りました。Instagramでリール動画を拝見すると、子供と大人が草原を走り回り、泳ぎ、作り、食べ、共に汗を流し全力で楽しんでいました。中には子供よりはしゃいでいる大人の姿を見て純粋な興奮を覚えました。

それからすぐにCAのフットサル交流会に参加すると
想像の斜め上を行きました。全員が熱に満ち溢れて、全力でした。🔥
その姿はまるで楽しい遊びを見つけ夢中になって遊ぶ子供の様。
なんて魅力的な人達なんだろう、。そう思いました。
キャンプ気になる。からCAの最高な人達と交流し、めちゃくちゃ行きたい！に変わりました。
