The final event of the summer of 2025 was a full-scale camping trip in the Yatsugatake Mountains! This was made possible with the full cooperation of Coleman.
Day 1
Although the gathering took place early in the morning, lively voices echoed through Shinjuku Station.
After saying goodbye to my family who came to see me off, I head to Kobuchizawa Station on the Azusa Express.
On the train ride there, I ate some snacks and chatted with new friends and leaders.
By the time we got to the station, everyone had become good friends! It was impressive to see people sitting tightly together in two-seat seats, meeting friends for the first time.
From Kobuchizawa Station, we took a bus to Yatsugatake Agricultural School.

This camp will involve two nights of tents and a full-scale camping program where everyone works together to prepare lunch and dinner.
First, we secured a place to sleep. After arriving, we started by setting up the tent where we would be staying for three days.
Everyone in the group worked together to assemble the tents, looking at Campship's original instructions and receiving guidance from a friend who had experience assembling tents.
The kids had a blast setting up the tent after much effort!

Once the tent was complete, we were relieved and had lunch, then enjoyed the vast grassland to our heart's content.
This relaxing time was short-lived, as next thing I had to do was cook dinner!
For dinner on the first day, we had curry! Following the campship rule of "He who doesn't work, doesn't eat," we divided into three groups: one to cook rice, one to cut and fry vegetables, and one to start a fire, and we all worked together to make curry.

The curry we made ourselves tastes amazing! I think my group's is the best!! We heard many confident voices saying this.

After that, we took a bath and then sat around the campfire and enjoyed roasting marshmallows before going to bed, ending the first day.
Day 2
After breakfast, we started off by playing a wide game. We were all in high spirits, with our faces painted.
Campship's specialties, Get the King and Capture the Flag, were a big hit! There was some heated team competition.

After the wide game, I suppressed my urge to run around and went to harvest vegetables. We discussed in our groups and harvested enough vegetables to eat for dinner.
For lunch, we had a barbecue where we grilled vegetables and meat! The fresh vegetables from Yatsugatake Agricultural School were very fresh and delicious.

After filling our stomachs, we had a choice activity in the afternoon.
This time, the children were divided into three teams: one that experienced dairy farming and poultry farming, where they interacted with animals; one that experienced woodworking, where they made pig pens; and one that made butter and cheese. Each child found their own interest and became engrossed in it.

After returning to the campsite, we made pork miso soup and grilled chicken for dinner. We cooked the vegetables we had picked in the morning. By the third time we had cooked outdoors, everyone was gradually getting used to it, and it was impressive to see everyone efficiently sharing roles and helping each other out.
Day 3
Everyone was running around even before breakfast, not showing any signs of fatigue, and the final day began with a hot dog.

First, pack up the tent!
First, we were shown an example, and then we folded it together with our friends in our group .
After a short rest, we had lunch and bought some souvenirs from Yatsugatake Agricultural School, including fresh vegetables and sweets.
It was heartwarming to see them buying matching items with their new friends.
Finally, we leave Yatsugatake Agricultural College after enjoying some soft serve ice cream made with milk produced at the agricultural school.

We said goodbye to some of our friends who were getting off along the way, and took the bus and train to Shinjuku. On the way back, some of the kids were sleeping. There were also signs of aging.

We tried our hand at full-scale camping for three days. It feels like everyone has returned a bit more reliable. See you again on the camp ship!!
