Concept

This program allows students to learn about the history of what happened in Hiroshima during World War II at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, explore Hiroshima as a modern tourist city, and engage in creative activities that connect their learning to the future.

Some parts of the itinerary, such as local cuisine and traditional craft experiences, offer students several options to choose from. Through this trip, students will actively learn about and enjoy Hiroshima’s past and present, with the goal of experiencing peace and local food culture.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Learning about history while listening to a guide’s explanations at the Atomic Bomb Dome and observing the Peace Memorial Museum.

Miyajima Island - a World Heritage Site

Visit Miyajima Island, a World Heritage Site and one of Japan’s three most scenic spots, and explore Itsukushima Shrine and the island

Craft Workshop Activity

You can experience crafting a traditional handicraft of your interest by choosing from Omamori (Shinto charm), Miajima Shamoji (Wood Curving), and Glass art.

Authentic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki

Hiroshima is known for its diverse and delicious local cuisine. In this program, we eat Authentic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki.

Hiroshima Castle

Visit Hiroshima Castle, a historic landmark, to experience its rich history and culture while enjoying the panoramic view from the observation deck

Peace Study

Visit the facilities and museum within the park to learn about the devastation caused by the atomic bombing and the experiences of survivors, and reflect on the importance of peace.

Strolling around Miyajima Island

Stroll around Miyajima, which is home to many local sweets

Local streetcar

Ride a streetcar, a distinctive feature of regional cities in Japan

Ferry boarding

Board the ferry bound for Miyajima.
